Violin and viola lessons in London E11 Leytonstone Leyton Stratford
Violin and viola lessons in Kent Ditton ME20 Maidstone

Although I live in London, I also teach at my base in Kent twice a week.

All ages and standards are welcome.

Prepare for graded exams, get help on orchestral parts or just play for fun – your lessons, your choice!

I have over 10 years’ teaching experience and hold the LRAM teaching diploma.

I have also taken Alexander Technique lessons, the skills from which I incorporate in my lessons when necessary to help avoid aches and pains!

Theory and aural skills are integrated as part of regular instrumental lessons.

Please note: potential pupils should be aware that it may not always be possible to keep to a regular time each week due to my performance commitments, but every effort will be made to fulfil the agreed quota of lessons.

I am a qualified Stringbabies teacher and can start students on violin from the age of 3 using Kay Tucker’s brilliant method. Click the logo to read more about it!

Please get in touch if you are interested in making an enquiry.

Remote violin and viola lessons

As we all do our best to adjust at this surreal time, I have started offering Skype lessons.

If you have suddenly found yourself without access to your regular violin or viola lessons, please feel free to get in touch, although please make every effort to be in touch with your usual teacher to check that they are not also offering this service.

What do my students say?

“Lucia is a wonderful teacher. She is able to explain in both simple and complex terms and I’ve learnt so much over my first few lessons.”

“I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with Lucia, not only is she a fabulous teacher but she is also a wonderful solo violinist and I feel my violin playing and technique has developed drastically as a result of her teaching.”

“Having resumed playing the violin after a 20+ year break, to play in a couple of local orchestras, I realised I needed some help! Lucia has reminded me of lots of things I was told when I had lessons in my 20s but has an excellent way of explaining why they are important and still making lessons enjoyable.”

“As a mature adult, learning to play the violin and to read music has been quite a challenge but Lucia has been the most patient of teachers.  She has guided me carefully and diligently with lots of learning and practice tips to assist my progress.  Lucia has encouraged me (but never pushed me) towards taking my Grade 1 exam which has given me real focus and determination.  Lucia makes the lessons enjoyable and fun and I always look forward to them.”
