Layers

Be it for choral societies or weddings, at certain times of year we classical musicians find ourselves working in churches almost daily.

Be they quaint parish churches or grand cathedrals, there are always lots of beautiful details to admire whilst counting rests, but this enjoyment is often ruined by the fact that we can’t feel our toes (or fingers in some cases – not ideal!!). So I thought I’d start a database listing the average temperature in our celestial workplaces.

I hope this will help others plan ahead and take enough layers with them!

I’d love to make this database as comprehensive as possible so if you are a fellow church trotter, please get in touch to share your own temperatures. I just use a free thermometer app on my phone. Together we can help keep musicians’ fingers functioning freely!
